Tiger

A watercolor of a tiger I painted today from my watercolors book. It looked pretty plain so I added pen and outlined everything and added the stripes to it to give it more depth. Plus you can actually tell what it is this way. I went with my dad to his studio today, and I figured it's about time I tried watercolor. So once I got home, I set to work straight away. This way I can have something to show for my portfolio that actually contains some color!

My workplace

An ink drawing of Hagrid's Hut. I work at Harry Potter in Universal Studios, and this is what I saw everyday before I switched to another attraction. I had snapped a picture of it one day because I needed more perspective pieces for my portfolio. I would have loved to do it on location, but my longest break was only 45 mins. and that was barely enough time to eat my lunch!

Socilaizing Girl

An ink wash of a girl sitting on a planter talking on her phone. In my drawing class at UCF, we had to go outside and do 16 quick sketches of what we saw around us. We had to do a mixture of architecture, plants, and people. It was pretty tough to constantly find 16 scenes with all three elements combined, and only a few in the class actually finished before we had to leave.

Chinese Mandarin

A chinese Mandarin I made from my Birds Book. A quick sketch that I made it with charcoal.

Steam Locomotive

My steam locomotive! Took about 11 hours of my lifetime, but it was my first modeling project. This is a polygon model created in Maya for my Modeling for Realtime Systems Class. I'm so psyched to actually start my animation classes. Only one more semester to go! I'm not counting down or anything.

Grateful Woman

A charcoal nude model who was sitting on saran wrap. It was so difficult to draw and looked so off that I turned it into cloth when I was done.

Tool Box

This is a toolbox I had to create in Maya for my animation class. It was one of my first biggest projects, and it took way too many hours to count. I'm pretty proud of it saying as how long it took to create. I would come home, and sit here for hours on end just modeling this guy. I was still learning all of the tools in the program, so that's part of why it took so long. You can definitely tell that I'm not a modeler though, and my focus is on animation. Mostly because of the number of ngons and faces that are on this beast.

Flag Pole

An ink wash of a flag pole at UCF outside the memory mall. The flag and tree was drawn with pen and I added the wash to the background after. That's why the ink is bleeding, but I kind of like that about it.

Animal Safari

I originally started this one the day I graduated high school. However I did all but the lion within a week and put it away. I didn't touch it for two years because I wasn't sure how to go about the lion to bring everything together. Finally I pulled it out when I had to turn in my portfolio. I knew it needed more, but I wasn't sure what to add. Maybe some watercolor in the background? I was terrified I would ruin it by adding anything else saying as it took me three years to finish. Best part is, I never even submitted it with my portfolio. Maybe now I'll go back to it, and add in a background since I don't really care about it anymore.

UCF Arena

An ink wash of the UCF arena and psychology buildings. The ferris wheel is for Light Up UCF, an event they have during the winter. It's an outdoor ice skating rink with carnival rides and a big ice slide outside the arena. The best part is the outdoor drive in christmas movies they have every week. I've only been in the ice skating rink once, because when I did I fell on my face way too many times. This is a view taken from memory mall.

Little Bird

A charcoal drawing of a little bird on a branch. Taken from my Watercolor Birds Book. This is where I got the idea for my mini Twitter Birds series!

Circus Giraffe

My 2D design class had to create a giant painting. We each had to do our own but it had to connect to all the others to create a giant picture. I pitched the idea to have our group do a giant circus train and each picture had a cart with an animal in it. It was a two story train with one person on the bottom, and the other above it. Each person to your left, and to your right, had to connect cars. It was the largest collaborative project I've worked on to date, and it was quite a learning experience. The best part was that each person had their own style, and so although every painting lined up, they each were significantly different from each other with their own animals and taste. The person to my right ended up having a crazy sci-fi octopus shooting a gun, and the way it lined up with my giraffe, looked like he was screaming for his life! So it all came out pretty funny.

Hawk

Charcoal hawk drawn from my Bird Wilderness Book

Portrait

A contour portrait of a girl from my drawing 1 class at UCF. Iv'e never had an art class that took more time out of my life for homework than this one. It's pretty brutal, it's like the army but for drawing. They require 6 hours minimum on homework and they can definitely tell if you took an hour break in between and only drew for four -not saying from personal experience or anything....

Copper Ring

I had a dream the other night that I was walking in an empty grass field, and then came across a circular piece of copper scarp metal lying on the ground. When I went closer to it, I saw that the metal was in the shape of a circle, and inside was a never ending hole in the earth. From that hole, a city arose. Next a man popped up and pushed a button on the metal ring, and all of the objects in the sky started to rotate around the city just like a music box. I wonder what that dream means?
