Copper Ring

I had a dream the other night that I was walking in an empty grass field, and then came across a circular piece of copper scarp metal lying on the ground. When I went closer to it, I saw that the metal was in the shape of a circle, and inside was a never ending hole in the earth. From that hole, a city arose. Next a man popped up and pushed a button on the metal ring, and all of the objects in the sky started to rotate around the city just like a music box. I wonder what that dream means?

Rhino

Quick ink pen sketch of a rhino whom I named Johnny Ho. Just like my digital one, but I wanted to get it on paper

Mini Alligator

Alligator with pen and acrylic on a mini canvas. I'm in love with those tiny things, especially when I get the tiny easels to go with them. This mini canvas is for sale at my etsy shop, http://www.etsy.com/shop/designbylj

Robot in Space!

I had bought a folder from Target with robots all over it. It was pretty cool because they all looked like a three year old drew them. I had thought I should try one myself... because I am a 3 year old.

Sitting Lady

Charcoal drawing from my figure drawing class at Crealde School of Art. My process was to rub charcoal powder all over the paper, and then add vine charcoal for the shadows, and take out the lights with a shammy cloth. It was pretty interesting, and I've decided that this is my new favorite technique to use charcoal now.

Jellyfish

I got a pad for Christmas that teaches children how to draw cartoon animals using numbers. However I just went ahead and painted my own version. I think you're supposed to rip these out every night and use them as placemats for children, so they can color while they eat. Clearly I have the mind of a child, because I got this in my 20's. -Hence why I love Macaroni Grille so much!

Mushroom Girl

I saw something like this in graffiti on the side of an old barn. It reminds me of Banksy my favorite graffiti artist who lives in England. His identity is unknown because he always wears a monkey mask and only goes out at night so as to avoid the police.

Monkey Study

Quick sketches of monkeys using my new favorite ink pen.

Hot Air Balloon Vehicle

I had a dream the other night that I was in the arctic, and I was inside this hot air balloon with a wheel on the bottom, and it would wheel across the ice flows, hopping from ice to ice. The entire front was a giant window and I was on the other side of it, steering the balloon throughthe arctic. I had no idea where I was going, but I knew I was on a mission to get somewhere.

Sitting Woman

Another charcoal piece completed in my figure drawing class at Crealde School of Art. There was no way I was going to wipe this one for the next pose.

Lounging Man

Nude drawing of man in my figure drawing class at Crealde. I started to rub out the paper using vine charcoal with a brown tint and then switched to black. It came out all pretty much the same color on the paper, but when I took a picture of it, all the brown came back.

Boxing Man

Mixture of brown and black charcoal, figure drawing from my Crealde class. I love the style of this piece, he came out kind of as a futuristic style, with the sharp angles in his legs and high contrast of the lights.

Nude Girl

Quick powdered charcoal figure drawing from my Crealde class. I only had five mins to draw before the model changed poses, and then we wiped the entire paper back to the basic charcoal background, and started over with a new pose. It was kind of depressing spending time on these drawings only to never see them again. You can still see the remnants of an old image in the background that was erased and long forgotten, replaced by this one....so I started taking pictures of the finished product, before I had to wipe it clean!
